November 4, 2008 History was Made

As I woke up in the morning my stomach had butterflies. Not from being pregnant, from preparing to head to the polls. I grabbed my voter guide and anxiously got in my car. I did not turn on the radio, I drove in silence. I took in everything around me.

As I was getting closer to my polling place I my eyes began to swell with tears. I vote in every election big or small but this one meant a lot to me. This is the first time I was in the streets signing up voters, at official Obama rallies and sending out emails. It was time for a change and I was apart of making that happen.

So as I walked to the school and past by smiling and crying faces I felt that this is it; either change or no change. Today we can make history.

After a short 45 minute wait I cast my vote and say a prayer. I walked out of there with my head held high, tears in my eyes and my "I voted" sticker on my shirt.

I come home and glue myself to the tv. Maurice and I watch for hours, as Obama was taking over states that we were not excepting him to win. We grabbed hands and kissed each other and said wow we have just watched history in the making.

The Obama supporters of all kind pulling together to make a change. If you look at McCain's supporters you will only see one kind of people. And America is not one kind of people.

Ok enough tears it is time to make a "Change" but he can not do it alone! History was made today. Dr. King Jr would be proud. The United States is the most powerful country in the world and now we have a STRONG black man as the most powerful person in the world. All things are possible.
