Happy Halloween!

I have no clue if I am going to dress up or not. I don't even know what I am going to do. I know I will be with my best friends Derrick and Adrienne but other then that I don't know what we will be doing. 

Everyone that lives in LA goes to the big street party ever in WEST HOLLYWOOD. But when I say it is soooo many people. It is like rush hour traffic with people. You can barely walk however the costumes are amazing.  There are food vendors and the bars are packed.  People go all out. I am sure there will be a lot of costumes geared towards the election so that would be interesting to see. 

Ill keep you posted on what costume I decide to pick if any. 

The 405 made me eat SPRINKLES...yum!

If you don't live in LA then you might not know what the 405 is or what Sprinkles is. Well the 405 is the awful freeway that is always backed up. And I not talking the normal rush hour type of traffic. I mean you can get on this stupid freeway at anytime of the day or night and there is always traffic. 

So I took a detour so I would not have to sit and stare at tail lights for the next two hours for a 20 minute trip.  I took little Santa Monica which happens to run next to big Santa Monica. (i know weird) Anyway, as I was stopped at a stop light I look over to my left and see the brown store front with the pink ironing..."Sprinkles!" "Sprinkles" has the tastiest cupcakes you will ever eat...and probably the most expensive at $3.25 each. They come in the cutest little brown boxes too.

They were made famous by Oprah. Barbra Streisand sent Oprah a box of cupcakes and Oprah loved them so much she mentioned them on her show. (ya know everything she mentions on her show turns to gold) Not only do their cupcakes taste great they have fun flavors like red velvet, orange, lemon, cinnamon sugar, milk chocolate and chocolate marshmallow to name a few.  My favorite is the vanilla.

I told my self if there is parking close then I will get one. This is the heart of Beverly Hills shopping so I knew there would not be a space. But the parking Gods were on my side just as I was going to pull away a spot opened up directly across from Sprinkles. Now I could not resist.  I waited in the long line (yes there is always a line) and got my vanilla cupcake and a large cold milk.  I sat outside the store and enjoyed every bite!

Should I go back to CPK?

Ahhhh ok I am bored to death. I am use to working all the time or at least audition  3 days a week or in meetings or something.  This past weekend was the last weekend of production work that I had lined up. The shoot was great but it is over. So now what?  It is about to be hiatus so that means no acting gigs or no production gigs. Oh and remember I am pregnant so that limits my dance gigs. I don't think Chris Brown would want a pregnant backup dancer.  

I have been home for 3 days and I am going crazy. So I was like I will get a seasonal job. So I go to the mall and look at baby stores. Might as well get a job where I can get a discount on baby stuff. I walked in a few stores and I could not bring myself to ask for an app. Either the workers were only speaking in spanish, they were kids texting or they were grandma's age. 

I call my boyfriend in frustration and he tells me I don't have to work and why am I stressing myself.  What! Not work that is not in my nature. I will go crazy. A house wive is not in the cards for me. So if he does not want me to kill him or pick at everything that he does I think he should want me to work somewhere. 

So as I leave, I stopped into CPK to grab me a salad togo. And I thought. CPK? If you don't know I worked at CPK for 4 years, I only left 1 year ago.  In my head im like "NOOOOO! Are you crazy" but then again TIPS are nice. I would make the same hourly as any other store however, I would be making TIPS. But who wants to be the pregnant 30 year old  AHHHHHHH Ill keep you posted on my decision.

Audition....telling my Agent I am pregnant! ahhh

Friday I had an audition for a Mc Donald's commercial. The audition was weird. Had to walk weird and play with fake nuggets. You had to be there. lol So since I was in the neighborhood I decided to stop by my agents to say hello and see the new office. 

I have been with my agency since they opened 5 years ago. I love my agents and trust them completely with my career choices. However, I could not tell her on friday; there was so much going on in the office. Clients coming in to say hi, new clients signing up, and not to mention everyone's desk is in head hustling distance. So I chickened out and sent her an email. Everyone said I told them too soon but I would rather them know now why I can't take a world tour or do a swimsuit ad. And plus they might can find me pregnancy work.  I have not heard back from the email so I am a little nervous. I'll keep ya posted.

  

Gigs I am working on!

A friend of mine (simone valentine) told me I should be posting my projects and upcoming tv/movie appearances. I wish this was about 4 months ago when things were really hot but I guess I have to book something so I can post it. lol 

*Recently I did a SEARS back to school campaign where I played a kid going back to high school.  It was my biggest job ever. A 5 spot union national commercial! You can see that and my story at arrivelounge.com.

*Adidas internet commercial which I have not even seen. Not a big part just featured.

*Valentine tv show. Now this was a little featured extra part that everyone has been calling me over. I have yet to see this but apparently I have a great shot but my face book, email and myspace were blowing up with people that saw me. (i will not post extra work not unless it is interesting) 

*The movie "Studio" I produced is in Blockbuster

*Currently producing a pilot for a big network I can't say on the internet

That is about it as of now. I'm sure it will be more to come....it better be that is my job.

Daddy, AIDS Walk and Universal Horror Night

Ok this crazy weekend story is almost over. So Sunday Oct 19 is a tough day for me. It marked the 3 year anniversary of my father passing away. It is really tough since I am pregnant and my boyfriend and I are talking about wedding plans and my daddy will not be there...physically. I am a total Daddy's Girl so i took his death very hard. Mainly because I know that my best friend Mommy will now be alone. She is handling it better then I thought she is super strong and I want to be just like her and have a relationship just like theirs.


AIDS WALK
I am known for doing many walks for charity. My sorority along with the NPHC particpated in the AIDS walks LA. It was long and my feet hurt so bad but that day of pain was worth it for the cause. I raised $450 dollars for the charity. As a group we raised close to 2 grand.

UNIVERSAL HORROR NIGHT

Ok the last thing of the weekend. After taking a nap from the AIDS walk my boyfriend and I and a bunch of friends decide to go to Universal Horror Nights. My feet are still hurting and I am sick. Yes I know I am pregnant and I should not be pushing myself but I really wanted to go and I had already paid for the tickets. It was so not scary. My boyfriend and I realized that we just might be too old for Haunted Houses because nothing scared us or we have only been to really bad Halloween events. We left after only one maze, the (non) scary studio tour and the Simpsons Ride which was really good. The best part was the really big donut I brought in the Simpsons part of the park.  We came home and was sleep by 11:30pm. lol 

Fried Chicken, Voter Reg, Peach Cobbler, Go Go Dancing!

Saturday Oct 18 was the beginning of a crazy weekend. I got up in the morning still stick with a cold but dragged my butt out of bed and went to the Taste of Soul on Crenshaw with my friend Terrisha. The reason why I really wanted to go is because I committed to helping my sorority get people to register to vote. That was a success. It felt good to register so many people. However, I could not believe that so many people never voted before and sadly so many people said, "Im not voting it does not count." And those stupid people were rocking Obama t-shirts and hats. ARE YOU SERIOUS!

After we were finished with registration we had to "TASTE some SOUL" We sampled lots of food and I wanted an old school chicken box. Basic fried chicken wings and fries. And it was disgusting. The chicken was too salty and the fries were not done. And it was $10. So being cheap I was not buying anything else. I got me a peach cobbler to go and decided it was time to go home for a nap before I had to go go dance.

Now it is Go Go time. So since there is no more 6 pack I had to figure out a way to cover my puggy tummy. CORSETS! Not only do they cover my stomach it is super sexy. And since I have gone up 2 cup sizes more attention was on my breast then my stomach anyway. When I get off of stage I over heard two girls talking about how they figured my breast were fake. hahahah if they only knew.

The HEART BEAT!

We heard our baby's heart beat. On Friday Oct 17th my boyfriend and I went to my 2nd doc's appointment. So after sitting in the waiting room we went in the back. They weighed me in at 113, 2 pounds more then the last visit which is exactly right according to where I should be in my pregnancy right now. Told ya I stick to schedules. lol 

So me thinking I was going to get an ultrasound my doc brings out this thing called a doppler and puts it on my bikini line. Wait! if my baby is down there what is in my stomach? Not cute. Anyway after hearing what sounded like radio static we heard a strong and fast heart beat. 

In my head I am thinking wow I really am pregnant. (yes I was still in denial) It felt so good. I looked over at Maurice and smiled. It made me realize that I  am so in love with him and I am excited to start our new life together.

I LOVE my Friends

 Through this pregnancy I have certain friends that I ask advice from and others I would rather not hear what they have to say. Below are some of my favorite people in the whole world.

* my sorority sister Tarsha just recently had beautiful twin boys; so not only is she a perfect person to talk to, I have known her for years and love her like she is my blood sister. Also has an amazing teenage daughter

*my bff Derrick- my voice of reason, the one who calms me down and the one that helps me keep my house clean

*my film partner Terrisha- she keeps me focused on not thinking about my pregnancy all the time and making sure I stay creative. 

*my sorority sister Ali- helps me laugh at everything

*Bianca - my all natural nature girl keeps me eating grass and nasty food

*Adrienne-friend with two kids and still working in the biz. She is also a major comic relief

*my sorority sister Quiana- she is that spiritual person I can call about anything and she will listen and not judge. 

*my brother- that calls to check on me and tell me long stories about his job or tries to give me bad name choices for the baby

*my mommy- she worries so much. Just knowing that I have such an amazing women behind me feels good. She is truly my best friend.

*My man-last but surely not least. He rubs my backs and my tummy, gets yelled at for nothing, has to hear me complain about not fitting into my bras (which he loves), and gets to see me cry all the time about nothing. I love him more then he knows and I am honored to carry our baby.

And thanks to everyone else that I have called and vented to, I just had to shot out these certain people.

OMG! The baby is making me Dumb!

You guys are going to get a kick out of this. But yesterday (Wed) I did my normal morning duties.

*Pee

*wash my face

*brush my teeth

*eat a bowl of Heart to Heart with 4 strawberries

*check my email

*do production work

*plan for todays meetings, dance classes or auditions

*call Derrick

*shower and get dressed

Well lets just say I had a little problem with two of the things on the list. I go to take a shower and I can not remember how to turn the water on. I am pulling and turning what I thought turned on the water but didnt. So I thought that my building had cut off the water. I check by turning on the falcet and they worked. So I go back to the shower still puzzled. I turn the right knob and that water comes out.... start to laugh. wow did I really forget how to turn on my water? 

Im not done there is more. So I get ready for meeting number one. I arrive at the office and no one is there. I ask the receptionist did the location change and she looked in the computer and tells me I am there a whole week too early. AHHHH are you kidding me? 

My friend Tarsha told me this would happen but then again I never really thought it would happen to me. 

I Taught 3 year olds Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop and Jazz..WOW

Yesterday I subbed a class for a friend of mine. 5 classes to be exact. All an hour each. The first class was full of 3 year olds. The kids were sooooo cute but they didn't listen at all. Well, maybe 2 out of the 10 that actually paid attention. We sat "criss cross apple sauce" and talked about princesses then we twirled around the room. Some cried. Some bullied other kids by stealing their stickers and some ran back out of the room to their mothers. This was a true test to me having a baby. Even though I wanted to scream I handled it well.

Then the 5 to 7 year olds. Wow they were worst then the 3 year olds. They talked so much about nothing. Wanted to tell me all of their parents business. So note to self "watch what you say around your kids..they will tell on you." These kids followed directions a lot better but it was still like pulling teeth.

The classes got older as the day when on. However the dance level of the kids did not really advance much. My teens were super shy and was afraid to dance because they did not want to look silly. My last class was the best because they were not afraid to dance.

5 hours of whining and complaining, I survived but did I pass the test is the question?

My skin...ahhhhh

Ok call me vain but I like looking good. I hate the fact that my face is breaking out like I am some high school kid. So I looked in what I call my baby bible "What to Expect When You are Expecting." by Heidi Murkoff And it says that only a hand full of women experience that "motherly glow" others get rashes on their bodies and breakouts on their face, neck and chest. Some women even get a brown mask over their face. WHAT! A Brown Mask!  Now one of my friends told me she had this mask thing, I didn't believe her until now.

I need to find a natural remedy for this breaking because it is not cute. So if anyone knows anything I can do please let me know. I can not be a busted pregnant girl...come on I live in LA, the land of Britney Spears, Range Rovers, Miniature Dogs, Paparazzi, Sushi (that I can't eat), Beaches, Celebrities, Mercedes, and a Starbucks on every corner.  I must uphold the image of a fly LA girl.....Let's Do Lunch!....No really. lol

Our Anniversary! How we met!

Today oct 10th is the day that Maurice and I decided to make it official.  Here is the story. 

 I was out with a close girl friend (Adrienne) of mine on a Friday night. We went to see Imajin (my favorite band) but the show was over early and we still wanted to hang out. She told me to call Alex (ahhh to much back story with who he is to her.....let's just say he was one of those dudes that appeared when he wanted to and disappeared when he did not want to be found..Sorry Baby Pup). So anyway, I called him to see if he knew of anything going on. He said that we should meet him and his friends at HYDE on Sunset.

As we are sitting in the car doing the girl mirror thing, a blue car pulls up next to us, with bubbly Alex in the back. We get in the car and drive a half a block to the club. In the club I am talking to everyone. There was an annoying friend that was with them that made me want to go home. (ya know ladies the one that does not get the girls so he messes it up for his friends).  Adrienne and Alex was reminiscing and both wanted to go back to a guy name Mo's house. I did not want to go because it had "Set Up" written all over it. But she didn't want to go by her self. Now in the movie this is where one of us would come up missing but it was not that dramatic. We waited for a car in valet and Mo put his jacket around me.

We are at Mo's house and the annoying friend is picking with me.  So Mo kept moving me away from from him. Then Mo asked me to go in his room. Ok now, I see where this is going and I am not that kind of girl. He claimed he wanted to talk about movies. So my dumb butt goes in the room. (i know i know....stupid) However, we do talk about movies. He proceeds to tell me that his favorite movie is the "Notebook"....(bullshit). So at this point I know he is trying to get me in bed with him. Because no guy is going to tell a girl that is his favorite movie.

As soon as he goes to kiss me his annoying friend opens the door and wants to be taken home. We exchange numbers.

Sorry almost done. The next morning I am walking through the street fair to the dance studio for rehearsal. I look a mess. Basketball shorts, no make-up and a hoodie. And who do I run into "Mo."  He picked me up and kissed me like we have been kissing each other for years. He asked to take me out that night. I told him I don't know because I already had plans (I had a date). While I was in rehearsal, Mo talked to my girlfriends and had them convince me to do out with him. He offered to take all of us out just so he could spend some time with me.  So I lied to my date  (i know i know) and told him I had to go out with the artist I was dancing for. He actually came over while I was getting dressed for the date with Mo because he was buying cookies from my friends kids and I had to help them with their cookie sale.   (sorry I had to get their cookie money) Don't worry I didn't like him all. Told him I don't kiss people I'm dating just so he would not try to kiss me)

Mo, Adrienne, Chanel, Shaya (annoying guy) and I  went to Ago on Melrose. Wait...where did Alex go ?(he did one of his disappearing acts) 

So Mo is Maurice and we have been together every day since.

My First Belly Picture...or Lack There of..

Most of my friends know that I am a p90x freak and I faithfully do my crunches. However, I am not doing P90x or crunches throughout my pregnancy because it is very very strenuous. However, I am still doing 2 to 3 dance classes a week with light swimming.

So yesterday my best friend Derrick and I had a chill day. And he thought it was time for me to take a beginning picture so everyone can see my growing belly. Here it is.....me at 2 1/2 months




And after our nice relaxing workout in the pool we decided to make a fat girl dinner. KFC and homemade funnel cake. Yes, I finally found my funnel cake. Shut up people I eat right all of the time let me have my KFC and Funnel Cake.

My Boyfriend is Eating all of the food.

This blog is for everyone that has been texting me and leaving me messages asking if I want to go and eat (if you are paying then we can EAT!) or if I've gotten fat yet. I don't get hungry anymore then normal. But I think Maurice (boyfriend/baby's father) is getting all of that. He goes into the office for a couple of hours and comes back and sleeps ALL DAY and eats all the time. He wakes up in the middle of the night and goes to Taco Bell or Jack in the Box. He is the one that will eat ice cream and a Taco. So I think he is going to be the one gaining the weight. lol

Ive been going to atleast 2 to 3 dance classes a week, so I dont go crazy with all this baby talk. People keep asking me how I feel (THANKS) ...but Im good. I go to the doc next friday so I might start to tell more people after that, then again, my closest friends know and all others can kick rocks (except you amazing blog readers. I think being pregnant has made me mean.


Ok gotta go and pee. Oh and no morning sickness...so far.....yaaaay!

Where is the food?

Ok maybe it is the pregnant part of me or just my normal human instant to want to feed myself. On Saturday I went to my sorority meeting (Alpha Kappa Alpha inc. will give you guys info on them in a later blog). This meeting was soooo long. So after sitting through the longest meeting in the world. A couple of my sisters and I decide to go to Chilies. Ok, sorry Chillies, but I could not find anything healthy on the menu. I hate sending back food but I order chicken tenders that had no chicken inside just greasy fried tasteless yuck. Then I ordered a burger WELL DONE and it comes pink. AHHHHHH So now it has been hours and I have eaten some french fries and a bottle water.

So Sunday after church I meet up with my friends at the NoHo Arts Street Festival. So we are all excited to eat some food from the vendors. Where are the vendors? Please do not tell me that Domino's Pizza, Hog Dogs and a Chicken Patty are the ONLY food here. NOOOO! Where is the chicken on the stick, grilled corn, funnel cake, candy apples, burgers and french fries. So we ended up eating at a restaurant like most of the people at the festival. I know the economy is bad but geez people still have to eat. Yeah yeah yeah I know it is not healthy but I eat great all the time, I could have had a corn dog and a funnel cake and been a very happy girl.

5..6...7..8..DANCE

A  long night of moodiness, peeing and NOT SLEEPING. AHHHH This is only the beginning.  I pull myself together to take a 4 pm dance class.  Since I was running on hardly no sleep I told myself I was going to stand in the back and mark it. Well being that I was the only person who showed up to class; marking it was out of the question. After 30 minutes of  my now private lesson people decide to come and take class. I did OK not my best. I think being pregnant is making me think too much and I cant focus on one thing. 

This is a dance class I had on my computer. I could not tape the class I took yesterday but here is a taste of what this pregnant chick is doing.

Potty Training...MYSELF!

I am one of those people that if you wake me up then it takes me some time to get back to sleep. Well now that I am pregnant I have to get up in the middle of the night and go to the bathroom.  It so sucks. Don't try to hold it, your goose duvet will not like you. So I have mastered walking to the bathroom without waking up.  I don't completely open my eyes and I feel my way to the bathroom. This has worked all but one day when Maurice forgot to put the toilet seat down and I found myself sliding around a cold damp bare toilet almost busting my butt on the floor. So gross. Now I'm awake because I have to jump in the shower at 4:30 am. So guys please remember to put down the seat.
