If you don't live in LA then you might not know what the 405 is or what Sprinkles is. Well the 405 is the awful freeway that is always backed up. And I not talking the normal rush hour type of traffic. I mean you can get on this stupid freeway at anytime of the day or night and there is always traffic.
So I took a detour so I would not have to sit and stare at tail lights for the next two hours for a 20 minute trip. I took little Santa Monica which happens to run next to big Santa Monica. (i know weird) Anyway, as I was stopped at a stop light I look over to my left and see the brown store front with the pink ironing..."Sprinkles!" "Sprinkles" has the tastiest cupcakes you will ever eat...and probably the most expensive at $3.25 each. They come in the cutest little brown boxes too.
They were made famous by Oprah. Barbra Streisand sent Oprah a box of cupcakes and Oprah loved them so much she mentioned them on her show. (ya know everything she mentions on her show turns to gold) Not only do their cupcakes taste great they have fun flavors like red velvet, orange, lemon, cinnamon sugar, milk chocolate and chocolate marshmallow to name a few. My favorite is the vanilla.
I told my self if there is parking close then I will get one. This is the heart of Beverly Hills shopping so I knew there would not be a space. But the parking Gods were on my side just as I was going to pull away a spot opened up directly across from Sprinkles. Now I could not resist. I waited in the long line (yes there is always a line) and got my vanilla cupcake and a large cold milk. I sat outside the store and enjoyed every bite!
