40 Days of Love

As I have been researching facts about being a mother and what is good for my baby. I kept reading about spending 40 days with your baby. I did not fully understand it until one of my yoga teachers brought it up in class. I want to explain it on here since I know a lot of my friends dont understand why I am doing it.

The 40 day bond is spending the first 40 days of your baby's life with very little contact by anyone other then the father of the child.

* Your child is getting to know you and you are getting to know your child.
* The first 40 days are days in which will start to know their habits and to start them on a schedule.
* They only know you so you dont want them to be passed around from person to person.
* The baby's organs such as her heart and lung learnt how to work by mimicking mine work. So I have to have her as close to me as possible as much as I can. This is cutting the chances of SIDS in half.
* They are more susceptible to germs and getting sick.
* We will never get this time back when she is completely pure and innocent and straight from heaven.

When I heard this I thought it was an amazing idea. I have recieved messages from a couple of friends being upset about this, however, I dont care are all. Not to be mean but it is our child and if we want to enjoy her first moments on earth we have every right to it. I am not saying that we would not appreciate your help, but help is not coming over and holding the baby while I clean the house. However, we would appreciate a meal being dropped off or offering to go to the market, or just a sweet email.

So take this as us being protective but just wanted to really enjoy our new baby.

Thanks a bunch!
